olathe lost one its best coffee shops. Common grounds. Cindy the owner, passed away on january 15. it was a regular stop for me as cindy was a character and wonderful lady, she will be missed.

Stopped by one of Mattb’s haunts, Westport Coffee House…best iced-americano I’ve had in a long time. Like the atmosphere & friendly baristas. diddo on the recommendation.

I concur! I miss the espresso blend from Rev! Can’t find it anywhere. Keep us posted on your explorations Scott. If you’re ever up for an espresso, drop a note my way. My schedule is a bit more flexible right now…lol! Perhaps a ‘coffee talk’ group could get started if you want the company. I’m game.

I’m glad to see your new “yardstick” is the double shot! There seems to be quite a few coffee shops in KC that see espresso as just the coffee portion of the latte, cappuccino, mocha, etc. In my espresso exploration, I have found Westport Coffeehouse and Aixois to make excellent espresso, but I am still looking and checking places off your map. I am anxious to read what coffee shops you find as your favorites for espresso. Cheers!

Here in Kansas City the term “Southland” traditionally refers to the southern part of KCMO – neighborhoods like Waldo, Red Brige, Holmes, etc. NOT Johnson County.
